I’m always looking around for ideas of what to blog about and several places keep suggesting to take a few Instagram posts and give them a little backstory, so I thought I’d give that a go! If you’d like to follow me on Instagram you can here, and don’t forget to let me know your username so I can follow you back!
This is the most recent photo on my Instagram. I guess I don’t really use it that much. This is from just before Halloween, it’s my best friends and myself. Bethany (Catwoman, on the right) and her family threw a Halloween slash birthday party for her Grandma. Beth’s dad did a barbecue at the end of October, because that’s the type of thing they do. I love Beth’s family, and the three of us basically spent the whole evening gossiping with her Grandma. Louise, on the left, is dressed as Top Gun, and I went as Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter, I have a proper robe with a Gryffindor logo on it, and a Gryffindor tie, and I wore my old school skirt with a white shirt and a black jumper. The majority of my costume was DIY, which was a concept that completely baffled my friend who told me he always buys some elaborate costume from Amazon…
This photo was taken at Leeds festival 2014. I had been to Leeds once before in 2010 and I had the great fortune to see Blink-182 then, as well. They’re easily one of my favourite bands and I’ve loved them for most of my life. My brother claims that he introduced me to them, but I don’t think he did. My friends and I stood at the barrier for the entire day and it was entirely worth it. They played one of my favourite songs and I just love the atmosphere of Blink-182 shows anyway. Their stage chats are always hilarious and they always get the audience singing along to their classics, like Girl At The Rock Show. The lyrics of that one make reference to Warped Tour, and Reading and Leeds are possibly the closest thing we have to Warped Tour in the UK, so it kind of feels quite cute. I’m not really sure how to describe it.
These are the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My Grandma is Malaysian and my family used to live there, but I only actually went for the first time in 2011. We visited Kuala Lumpur, Port Dixon and Langkawi Island. The Petronas Towers are a lot taller than I thought they would be, to get a good photo you’d need a proper long exposure lens and a vantage point from quite a distance away. As it was, I thought I was quite far back taking this photo, especially compared to some of the other tourists I could see. I’m really proud of my Malaysian heritage and I hope I get to go back and visit again some time!
