Four For Friday #8

Four… upcoming movies I’m looking forward to seeing:
1) Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Okay, if by now if you don’t know I’m a massive Marvel fan, you must have been living under a rock. This is the sequel to Avengers Assemble, as it was known in the UK due to copyrights or something. The premise is that Tony Stark made like a super robot to help people but it gained some kind of artificial intelligence and turned evil. Given the titles of the next few movies in this storyline, we can assume the movies are following one specific set of comic books, which I’ve read, so I’m really excited to see how it translates even though the actual goings on can be a bit ropey. To say the least.
Having written this post in advanced and queued it, I’m going to go ahead and assume that when it posts I’m going to be in the cinema watching this one. YES!

2) Pitch Perfect 2

I dorked out massively over the first Pitch Perfect movie. A cappella groups and Anna Kendrick’s in it? What could go wrong? And it came, and it was amazing, and now there’s a new one coming out, and it’s safe to say I’m dorking out massively, yet again. From what I can tell the new Barden Bellas now seem to be in their senior year? Or maybe not because that seems like a massive jump in time. Either way this is absolutely set to be hilarious and all the songs featured are going to get a massive resurgence. I wonder if the Cup Song will feature this time around too…
3) Jurassic World
I don’t think I actually know anybody at all who isn’t excited to some degree to see Jurassic World. The first movies were iconic, dinosaurs coming back to life and terrorising a park? Are you kidding me, that is a stellar plot line. I love dinosaurs, always have, and I feel like that’s in part due to Jurassic Park. Oh, plus Chris Pratt is kind of taking over the world at the moment isn’t he? (Pun not really intended.)
4) Paper Towns
As a big fan of John Green and his books, it’s kind of built in for me to be excited for this one. My favourite book by him, Looking For Alaska, is coming out in a year or two, and John’s confirmed that some of the same crew from Paper Towns will be working on Looking For Alaska, too. It’s a story about a guy whose childhood best friend (who he just so happens to have a massive crush on) goes missing and he takes it upon himself to go and find her. It’s always interesting to see how books translate into movies but given that Margo didn’t look anything like Cara Delevigne in my head, I think I’m going to have to go into this one with an open mind.
