So firstly here are Michelle’s 10 questions:
1. What is your favourite book and why?
My favourite book growing up was always The Girl With The Silver Eyes by Willo Davis Roberts, although I’m not entirely sure why. It was probably just because the protagonist had ginger hair on the cover of the version I had, and I am that easily pleased. My favourite book as an adult is Looking For Alaska by John Green. I read it whilst I was in university at the recommendation of a LOT of people (and I was a fan of the VlogBrothers anyway). I received it one Saturday morning and I finished it at about 2am on Sunday after spending most of the day reading away. I remember, too, trying to talk to people about it once I’d finished it, but the uni internet connection had gone down and my mobile internet had run out as well. It was an amazing book and I really can’t wait until the movie comes out, I just hope they do it justice!
2. What did you do today?
Today I went to work, got stuck for an hour after my shift on the phone to customer services trying to help two very lovely customers, then went for lunch with Jess. I was going to go to the Trafford Centre to sort my phone out at the Apple store (it keeps resetting itself of its own accord!) but I really couldn’t be bothered. Maybe I’ll go tomorrow. And later I’ll be watching the season 5 finale of Game Of Thrones!
3. If you could have any pet, what would it be?
This is probably a really very mundane answer but I’d probably get a bunny! I’ve always wanted a bunny for as long as I can remember – I bought loads of books on how to care for them and really swotted up, only for mum to tell me I would probably be allergic to their fur. Otherwise, though, maybe I’d get a Beluga Whale!
4. What’s your current favourite song and why?
At the moment I really like Someone New by Hozier. I grew really tired of Take Me To Church very quickly but this one has stuck, and I really like it! That’s probably helped by the fact that Natalie Dormer’s in the music video and she’s definitely up there with my favourite actresses.
5. If you could give just one piece of advice for life, what would it be?
Don’t think too hard about pleasing other people too much, if there’s something you want or need to do, you should do it, even if it’s going to upset other people. If they don’t accept that you needed to do it for yourself then they’re probably not the type of people you really need in your life, sadly.
6. Do you have a favourite quote and what is it?
I don’t really! I find quotes a bit of a weird thing, the fact that you can say something and other people can go around attaching you to those words is all a little bit daunting for me. Maybe I’ll just say I liked the fact that Alexander Graham Bell answered the telephone with “ahoy-hoy.”
7. What do you enjoy reading most in other people’s blogs?
I really like the nosey bits of lifestyle posts like ‘here’s what I did this week,’ and ‘let me tell you about my pet,’ and cute things like that!
8. What’s your worst habit?
Procrastination. No doubt about it.
9. What’s your favourite film and why?
Inception. I love the way it makes you think, and you have to focus, and the characters are brilliant. Also, Christopher Nolan is my favourite director and Leonardo DiCaprio is my favourite actor, so that plays a part.
10. How would you spend the perfect day?
I would probably spend it on a plane going somewhere beautiful and watching a sunset.
