A Day In The Life

I had this great idea for a blog post, inspired by so many other people who do day-in-the-life posts, but I realised I’m not really much of a photo taker so I’ve kind of ended up with a random collection of pictures.Anyway, on Tuesday I had a day off work and decided to head into town to pick up a few things. I wrote myself out a list and I had such high hopes for it.

It’s the work Christmas Do on Saturday, you see, so I thought I’d get a few new bits and pieces (and some extra essentials obvs.) So I wanted a top and a jacket, but only if something caught my eye, because I have quite a lot of things in my wardrobe. I wanted a new pair of boots because all of mine are flat and I wanted some with heels. I checked out the New Look website the night before but wanted to try some on, especially since it was such short notice before the do itself. I wanted a bag to put all my clothes in, since obviously I’m on a late on Saturday (typical…) and what I’ve described as a ‘tubey’ bag I’ve later found New Look actually calls a duffel bag – the kind with a round base that has drawstrings at the top and a little flap – but the only ones I found were around £25 which is too much for what I wanted it for. I was also after some small hoop earrings, some more Lush Snow Fairy shower gel, some cotton wool face pads, and some olives from Nandos.

See, I started with such good intentions for artsy photos. It was even drizzling when I stepped outside so I risked my phone getting soggy for this.

And this was the last photo I took, as I set off for town…

I headed into the city centre and got a few things, and I fell in love with a pair of boots in New Look! The size 4s were just a little too small and they didn’t have a size 5, but the girl called up the store on a nearby retail park and reserved a pair for me. The size 5s were actually a little big and clownish feeling, but I loved them and they don’t have any half sizes so I went with the 5s. Here are some photos of what I eventually came home with:

Queen Calendar – As I’ve mentioned a few times before, my mum and I always get each other a calendar for Christmas, and there’s a calendar shop in town so I thought I’d pop in, and came across this Queen one! Does that mean I’ve technically started my Christmas shopping now? Oh no!

Cotton Wool Face Pads – That was on my list! I’m finally trying out the Garnier Micellar Water I got in my July My Little Box and I’ve found the little cotton wool balls my mum has are a bit too small to use properly. I don’t know how she does it.

Claire’s Earrings – I found the “smol hoops” I was after, and the earrings were on a 3 for 2 offer, so I picked up some little Christmas trees to try and get me in the Christmas mood a bit more, and some awesome sharks that look like they’re trying to nom your ear!

The Boots – I absolutely love these boots already, they’re so comfortable and not too tall so I don’t feel like I’m teetering about in them. The real test is wearing them for the Christmas Do on Saturday – and then going out in town afterwards…

Nando’s Olives – I actually hate olives. I can’t understand what people could possibly like about them. Yet, I am obsessed with Nando’s olives. I have no idea how this has happened, because I’ve tried normal, non-Nando’s olives since I’ve gotten into these, and I still hate them?!

The only thing I didn’t get on my list was some more Snow Fairy as I’ve almost run out (somehow, already), but I’m just being impatient anyway because I ordered some online the other night. It’s nothing to do with the fact I parked in the car park at the other end of town and couldn’t be bothered walking through all the construction traffic on the high street to get down to Lush. I also gave up my plan to nip in to Primark for the same reason.

I think I had a mostly successful day out, I just need to remind myself to actually take some photos next time!
