Four… favourite Patricks
Yesterday, March 17th, was St. Patrick’s day! It’s kind of known for being the day where everyone believes they have some Irish blood somewhere to justify them going and getting leathered. It’s all in good fun! My grandmother actually was Irish and I’ve got the ginger hair and green eyes to show for it, and although I don’t tend to get drunk on St. Paddy’s, I love the day anyway. To celebrate I’ve chosen 4 of my favourite Patricks!
Number 4 – Paddy McGuinness
Probably not such a big name amongst anyone from anywhere outside the UK, but Paddy McGuinness takes the number 4 spot. He’s known for hosting a TV show called Take Me Out, a kind of dating game show. If you’ve never seen it, you should definitely try and watch it some time, if only do you can truly appreciate the show’s catchphrase:“No likey, no lighty!”
Number 3 – Patrick Dempsey
Grey’s Anatomy’s very own McDreamy comes in at number 3. Patrick Dempsey plays the husband of the main character, Meredith Grey, but he’s also been in various rom-com movies too. The two stand outs for me are Enchanted, where he plays a single dad in New York who falls in love with a character from a fairy tale who has come to life, and Maid Of Honour, where he plays a guy in New York who falls in love (sensing a theme) with his best friend from college. Dempsey also loves raving cars which adds the air of danger which attracts some people. Apparently.
Number 2 – Patrick Stewart
I really shouldn’t need an explanation for our second place Patrick! Mr. Stewart is an acting veteran – you have almost certainly seen him in something. For many he’s Professor Xavier from X-Men but to me he’ll always be Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Number 1 – Patrick Stump
There really are absolutely no prizes for guessing that my number one favourite Patrick had to be the lead singer of my favourite band. Fun fact, the first time I ever saw Fall Out Boy play live was on St. Patrick’s day, and Stump made a comment about it just before the sound system crashed, inspiring him to do an impromptu rendition of one of my all-time favourite songs!
Who’s your favourite Patrick? One from my list or have I managed to forget someone?!
