Star Wars Day!
There’s been a lot of Star Wars buzz on my blog lately and I’m just not sorry. Wednesday was Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you) and so, technically, was Thursday (Revenge of the Fifth). I have a bit of an ongoing tradition of watching the 2009 Star Trek movie on Star Wars day for no other reason than I am a massive douche. I like Star Wars, don’t get me wrong, but I much prefer Star Trek. Live Long and Prosper!
My first real vlog in five years, and my first ever on the Oui Stephanie channel, went live on Thursday! It was just a little introductory post but I had fun making it, and I especially remembered how much I love editing – even if it doesn’t really go much further than cutting out all those annoying ‘erm’s. Here’s the link to my vlog if you haven’t watched it yet! Please do let me know what you think!
I’ve been a Marvel fan for about as long as I can remember. I’ve read loads of the comic books, and when I first read the Civil War comic books I thought about how great it would be as a movie. Of course I knew it could never happen, because different studios have the rights to different characters. Then they announced that the next Captain America sequel would somewhat follow the Civil War storyline and I was interested to see what they would do. I finally saw the movie with Louise on Thursday and whilst I really enjoyed it, I don’t think you could really compare it to the comic books. Without ruining anything, there’s one scene where all the characters from the different sides square off, and someone has compared it to a similar stand off scene from the comic book and it really pales in comparison – mainly because in the comic books the war is between everyone in the Universe. But I’ve rambled on enough already. TLDR; I really enjoyed the movie but don’t think it follows the comic book!
Kristen Chenoweth & Idina Menzel – For Good
I absolutely love Wicked, and I would have paid good money to have been able to see it when Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel were still in the show. But that was 12 years ago… Well, the two have reunited to sing one of the most beloved songs from the show to honour the producer, David Stone. It’s such a beautiful song and it’s unbeatable when you hear the two original actresses singing it together. Enjoy!!
