I don’t really have any summer plans this year. I had intended on taking mum on holiday somehwhere since she’s celebrating a milestone birthday this year, but a few circumstances have made that a bit difficult. But we still might go on a short weekend break. Regardless, we live very nearby to Manchester and I’m sure we’ll end up going out for a shopping trip in the city at least once over the summer. So I’ve put together a classic outfit that will look good in whatever city you find yourself in this summer, and I wanted to share it with you all!
1 – Pink Floral Print Tie Back Sleeveless Top, £14.99 from New Look
I love thin, sleeveless tops. They’re so comfy and keep you so cool, which is exactly what you want when you’re in the city and can’t exactly go take a dip in a pool or a beach. This one from New Look has a really cute flowery pattern, and I love orange and pink together.
2 – Powder pink Fine-Knit Cardigan, £8.99 from H&M
It’s always a good idea to take a thin cardigan with you wherever you go in summer. Not just because, as a ginger, it gives your skin some relief from the sun beating down, but also so you can stay out and about a little longer, and you have something on hand for when the temperatures start to drop, instead of needing to leave early, or to get changed to head back out. Because I’ve gone for a patterned top I’ve chosen this plain cardigan, but a plain top and patterned cardigan would look just as nice!
3 – MOTO Blue Super Ripped Joni Jeans, £40 from Topshop
Ripped jeans are really hit or miss, but I ordered these back in April and have basically lived in them since. I am a bit of a sucker for a good pair of Joni jeans from Topshop and these are no exception. They’re so soft and comfy, and instead of just kind of having holes in, the rips are more like proper rips… I don’t know how better to describe it than they have stringy bits going across the rips. So eloquent. But the point is they’re a bit more tasteful than just making a few random holes in a pair of jeans, and they’re a great look for summer.
4 – Mia Mini Grab Bag in Tan, £65 from Fiorelli
If you’re going to be wandering around the city, you want a bag that can hold all your essentials, but nothing too heavy or bulky. That’s where Fiorelli’s mini grab bags come into play. They’re the perfect size and not too weighty, which makes them the perfect companion on any adventure. This one has two zip pockets at the top, one in the middle, and a magnetic button pocket on the front. Loads of hiding spaces and all without weighing you down. Perfect!
5 – Fitbit Alta in Black, £99.99 from Fitbit
There was a study which showed that going out shopping and wandering around burns loads of calories. So if you’re going to be hitting all the shops, or even visiting loads of landmarks and doing some sightseeing, you’re going to be getting those steps in. There are loads of step trackers out there, but I have a Fitbit Alta and it’s great! My one and only issue with it is the fact it doesn’t count the stairs you climb, but other than that it’s perfect.
6 – Black Suedette Ballet Pumps, £9.99 from New Look
Ballet pumps are some of the comfiest shoes I own. They’re so easy to throw on, and look good with just about any outfit you decide to wear. Sure, they may not be the best things for your feet, but they’re just too comfy for me to care.
